Travis joined us late in the 2007 season as the “ player to be named later ” when the San Francisco Giants traded Mark Sweeney to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was having a fine season for Inland Empire in the California League, and his continued hot-hitting helped San Jose win the league title. Travis was our first second baseman, and our second Travis. We nicknamed him “ Deuce. ”
